An abandoned house has gone up in flames in Upper Coomera.

Six fire crews were called to Brygon Creek Road just before 6pm Sunday night to find a two-storey property well alight.

It took firefighters over 2.5 hours to extinguish the inferno.

The flames caused the roof of the house to collapse; completely destroying the property.

It’s understood the property is often used by squatters.

A crime scene has been declared and police will be investigating to determine the cause of the fire.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Policelink.
