A man is due to front court today charged with the alleged domestic violence murder of a young Queensland mother.

Jana Armstrong was last seen at her Toowoomba unit on July 7, before her car was found abandoned in the middle of the road near her home the following morning.

Police launched a major search for the missing 30-year-old, which came to a tragic end on Saturday night when pig hunters discovered her remains in bushland at Redbank Creek.

Following the discovery, police executed a search warrant at a home in Harristown in the early hours of Sunday where a 48-year-old man was arrested.

The man, reported to be the father of Ms Armstrong’s four-month-old baby boy, was charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence).

He’s due to appear at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information, or anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam or other vision, to come forward.
