Man suffers horrific injury after bus crashes into bus stop on the Gold Coast

A man has suffered a severed arm in a horror bus crash at Burleigh Heads.

The 42-year-old was waiting at a bus shelter on Township Drive around 5pm Monday when a bus slammed into the shelter, causing it to collapse onto the man.

He suffered significant arm and chest injuries and was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Nobody on board the bus were physically injured.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
