A Gold Coast man is due to front court today charged with over a dozen drug trafficking offences.

The 36-year-old Lower Beechmont man was driving through Sunnybank Hills on Friday when he was pulled over by police for speeding.

Police allege they found drugs in the man’s possession.

He fled the scene on foot but was arrested a short time later and provided a positive drug test result.

The man has since been charged with 15 offences including five counts of possession of dangerous drugs, four counts of supplying dangerous drugs, and two counts of possessing anything for use in the commission of crime.

He is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
