The Gold Coast Titans have named prop Moeaki Fotuaika as co-captain for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Fotuaika is one of the club’s most respected figures and recently achieved the honour of becoming the club’s most-capped player in his 174th appearance.

He’ll share the top job with long-time leader Tino Fa’asuamaleaui.

Titans coach Josh Hannay says Fotuaika’s appointment alongside Fa’asuamaleaui is a natural progression for a player who’s highly regarded among his peers.

“Moe has earned enormous respect throughout our club with the way he carries himself every day,” Hannay says.

“Upon arriving at the end of last year, it was clear Tino is our leader and has been since being appointed captain in 2022,

“As I’ve spent more time working with the playing group and developing a better understanding of the squad dynamics, I feel having Moe as our co-captain will complement Tino’s strength of leadership and shoulder the load that comes with being an Origin and International representative player.

“He will also assist in continuing to drive the standards we want to accept at this club.”

Tino welcomed Moe’s ascension to co-captain – so much so that he delivered the news to Moe himself.

“I’m really excited for Moe. We’ve been through a lot together at this club and I know how much this means to him,” Tino says.

“Being captain is a privilege and having someone like Moe alongside me to help lead the group and share the load is incredibly valuable,

“He’s earned this opportunity and I know our playing group are proud to see him recognised in this way.”
