LATEST @ September 8 | Police have confirmed a man and woman have been killed in a horror light plane crash in Logan.
Emergency crews rushed to a property on Musch Road at Stockleigh around 11.10am on Monday following reports a light plane had crashed.
Upon arrival, police located two occupants of the aircraft, believed to be a 56-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, who died at the scene.
Initial investigations suggest the aircraft departed Archerfield Airport at around 10.57am before coming down a short time later.
“The Queensland Police Service will work closely with the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, which will have carriage of the aviation safety investigation,” police confirmed in a statement.
“The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being established”.
Anyone who witnessed the aircraft in the lead-up to the crash, or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or other vision, is being urged to come forward.

Police say initial information suggests the aircraft crashed onto a property on Musch Road at Chambers Flat around 11.10am on Monday.
The impact sparked a large grass fire, with twelve fire trucks currently on scene dousing the flames.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson confirmed the fire is under control.
“At this time, the number of people on board or injuries are unknown,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“The response to the incident is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.”
Queensland Ambulance Paramedics remain on scene.
