A man’s been charged after allegedly being caught with a loaded shotgun and several drugs in Broadbeach Waters.

Police received a report from a concerned motorist about a grey Land Rover that was allegedly being driven erratically after hitting a curb, and almost colliding with several cars on Monaco Street around 3pm on Thursday.

Police eventually located the 30-year-old driver with the damaged vehicle, stopped in the middle of Savoy Drive.

Officers allege they located a loaded shotgun during a search of the car.

They also allegedly seized a quantity of drugs, including cocaine and methylamphetamine, along with a substantial amount of cash.

He has been charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs. One count each of unlawful possession of a weapon, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act, offence in relation to unauthorised and prohibited explosives, possessing utensils or pipes that have been used and driving without due care and attention.

The man was denied police bail and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on May 10.
