A man has been busted allegedly more than four times over the limit after driving onto the Gold Coast light rail track.

Police were called to the Sundale Bridge around 8.45pm last night to reports of a car was on the tram track.

A QPS spokesperson said they located two men nearby the vehicle.

The driver allegedly returned a positive roadside test and was immediately taken into custody.

It’s alleged the 27-year-old Witheren man had a blood alcohol level of 0.191.

He’s been charged with one count of drink driving along with driving an unregistered vehicle.

He’s scheduled to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on September 25.
