LATEST @ March 12 | A man has now been charged with murder after a young man was allegedly stabbed to death in a brazen broad daylight attack.

Emergency services swarmed an undercover car park next to Hope Island Shopping Centre around 2.20pm on Monday following reports a man had been seriously assaulted.

Upon arrival, they found a 21-year-old man suffering significant stab wounds after allegedly being dragged from a vehicle and attacked.

Paramedics tried desperately to save him, but he could not be revived and died at the scene.

It sparked a major manhunt, with officers locking down a nearby luxury estate and golf course as they searched for the man’s alleged attackers.

The search involved multiple police helicopters, the dog squad and water police who spent hours combing through the area, with officers also searching vehicles attempting to leave.

After several hours, a 25-year-old Surfers Paradise man was taken into custody at an address along Sickle Avenue, before a 23-year-old Redbank Plains man was arrested on Santa Monica Boulevard.

The 23-year-old man has since been charged with murder.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

Police have confirmed both men were known to the victim.

Investigations are ongoing.

Emergency services swarmed the car park next to Hope Island Shopping Centre around 2.30pm on Monday afternoon.

It’s understood a man in his 20s was stabbed multiple times after reportedly being dragged from a car.

Paramedics tried to save the man but he died at the scene.

Dozens of Police remain at the scene with a search underway for his attacker.

Officers have also reportedly converged on Sanctuary Cove.

People are being urged to avoid the area.
