The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a horror wet weather crash that’s left three people fighting for life in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Emergency crews were called to Nerang-Murwillumbah Rd at Advancetown around 8.45am on Sunday following reports of a serious two car crash.
According to police, a black Nissan X-trail and a red Tesla were travelling in opposite directions when they collided head-on.
The driver of the Nissan, a 20-year-old Kilda man, was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the Tesla, a 68-year-old Tamborine Mountain man and passenger, a 71-year-old Tamborine Mountain woman, were also taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
