THREE teenage boys have been charged with a long list of offences after allegedly stealing two cars and taking them on a joyride across the Gold Coast.
Officers sighted an alleged stolen black Ford Mustang travelling in Runaway Bay around 7.40pm on Monday.
They were eventually able to intercept it at a petrol station on Oxley Drive but the male occupant fled on foot and managed to evade officers.
Two hours later, police identified a second stolen vehicle, a white Jeep Grand Cherokee, also travelling in Runaway Bay.
Tyre spikes were then successfully deployed on Hope Island Road but the car continued to travel on for some time before eventually stopping on the Pacific Motorway at Coomera.
The three occupants fled on foot but were taken into custody a short time later.
Police will allege one of the teens arrested was also the occupant of the stolen Mustang who managed to get away earlier in the evening.
Both vehicles are believed to have been stolen during an alleged burglary at around 3.30am on 9 February at an address in Pullenvale, Brisbane.
