A woman has been injured after being struck by a car in Broadbeach while with her child.

The 41-year-old and her child were walking their bikes across a pedestrian crossing when it happened just before 6am this morning.

The child was thankfully guarded by her mother and was not injured.

The woman suffered a head injury and has been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The 56-year-old female driver of the Landrover Freelander was not injured.

Police investigations are ongoing
