A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was allegedly run over by a tractor slasher west of the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to a sugar cane farm at Woodhill, near Beaudesert, around 9.30am on Thursday.

When officers arrived at the property, they found a 41-year-old woman with significant injuries.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following investigations, police have this morning charged a 44-year-old man, believed to be the woman’s husband, with one count of murder (domestic violence offence) and interfering with a corpse.

He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

A crime scene has been declared at the property as investigations continue.
