A teenage motorist has tragically died in a horror two-vehicle crash in the hinterland.
A truck and car collided in Tamborine just before 4pm yesterday, taking the life of an 18-year-old Boyland man.
The teen’s vehicle crashed with a large dump truck at the intersection of Mundoolun Connection Road and Beaudesert Beenleigh Road.
An off-duty paramedic was able to give immediate aid, however, the driver tragically died at the scene.
“Preliminary information indicates a black 2013 Ford Fiesta was travelling west along Mundoolun Connection Road approaching the intersection of Beaudesert Beenleigh Road,” a police statement reads.
“A collision has occurred with a large dump truck travelling south.”
The truck driver was not physically injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash, or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
