Two men have been seriously injured in a horror crash in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Initial investigations suggest around 8.10pm on Wednesday, a silver Suzuki Swift and red Holden HSV collided along Nerang Murwillumbah Road at Advancetown.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson confirmed one of the drivers had to be cut free from the wreckage.

Both drivers, aged 19 and 25, were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
