Grave fears for swimmer missing in waters off Tweed

A search is resuming this morning for a swimmer reported missing off the Tweed.

Emergency services were called to Dreamtime Beach in Fingal Head around 6.45pm on Monday after reports a 30-year-old woman had entered the water and had not returned.

Authorities launched an immediate search of the water and beach with help from Marine Area Command, Queensland PolAir and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

However, the woman was unable to be located.

The search was suspended around 11pm and will recommence at 8am on Tuesday.
