Investigations are underway after a factory was destroyed in a ferocious blaze in Logan in the early hours of this morning.

The fire erupted in the industrial area in Crestmead around 1am, with a delivery truck driver raising the alarm after hearing several loud explosions.

Up to 60 firefighters were called to battle the blaze, which they thankfully managed to bring under control relatively quickly.

Fortunately the flames didn’t spread to any neighbouring businesses and no one was injured.

However, locals in the area were urged close all windows and doors with a large amount of smoke billowing over a number of suburbs.

“There’s significant fire in the area, large volumes of smoke… We’ve put out warnings to inform residents to stay indoors and close their windows” QFES’ Kevin Reading said.

It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze, with fire investigators expected to head to the scene today to try and piece together the cause.
