UPDATE @ 12.00PM | A woman has been found alive after spending 12 hours in waters in the Tweed.
The 30-year-old went for a swim at Fingal Head around 6.45pm on Monday but did not return to shore.
That sparked a large-scale air, sea and land search last night before that was suspended around 11pm.
The search resumed this morning, with the woman located near a floating marker in the Tweed River just before 7am.
Water Police, assisted by Police Negotiators, brought the woman safely aboard a police vessel.
She was taken to Fingal Wharf where she was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Tweed Valley Hospital for further assessment.
EARLIER | A search is resuming this morning for a swimmer reported missing off the Tweed.
Emergency services were called to Dreamtime Beach in Fingal Head around 6.45pm on Monday after reports a 30-year-old woman had entered the water and had not returned.
Authorities launched an immediate search of the water and beach with help from Marine Area Command, Queensland PolAir and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
However, the woman was unable to be located.
The search was suspended around 11pm and will recommence at 8am on Tuesday.
