Manhunt after rideshare driver carjacked on Gold Coast

A manhunt is underway following the terrifying carjacking of a rideshare driver on the Gold Coast this morning.

Three males entered the driver’s vehicle along Marine Parade in Labrador around 1am before forcing him out the car and chasing him down on foot.

The driver was then allegedly struck by the males, before the trio stole his mobile phone and vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The man was taken to hospital with minor injuries, while his vehicle was located by police a short time later on Bath Street at Labrador.

Police are now appealing for anyone with relevant information or CCTV to come forward as investigations continue.
