A woman has died in a horrific crash involving a motorbike and SUV on the Gold Coast overnight.
The 41-year-old was riding along Guineas Creek Road in Elanora just before 6pm on Thursday, when her motorbike collided head-on with an SUV heading in the opposite direction.
The two vehicles then caught alight, sparking a major emergency response.
Despite desperate efforts by paramedics, the female rider from Tallebudgera died at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, a 48-year-old Elanora woman, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigaitng.
