Stolen luxury car found crashed and engulfed in flames on the Gold Coast

Police are searching for car thieves who turned a luxury car into a fireball on the Gold Coast.

Emergency crews were called to Hinkler Drive in Worongary around 10:20pm after an Audi RS Q8 smashed into the guardrail before erupting into flames.

Those responsible had fled the scene prior to police arrival and are yet to be tracked down.

The Audi has been reported stolen from a home on Shell Street in Nerang earlier that day.

A police investigation is ongoing.
