Two men have been arrested following a wild, hours-long police chase across the Gold Coast.
Officers were initially called to reports of an attempted theft on Fiesta Avenue in Surfers Paradise around 3.25pm on Monday.
When they arrived, they identified two men travelling in a white LDV SUV.
Officers and POLAIR tracked the vehicle as it drove dangerously across multiple Gold Coast suburbs, with witnesses claiming to have seen it swerving onto footpaths and the wrong side of the road all while flares or fireworks were thrown from the window.
Police allege the pair also tried to steal another vehicle during the ordeal but were unsuccessful.
At around 7pm the pair were finally taken into custody and they have since been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and drug offences.
Investigations are ongoing.
