A measles alert has been issued for parts of southeast Queensland, including the Gold Coast, after three confirmed cases involving people who attended the Jelly Roll concert last month.

That concert was held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 24.

Queensland Health says these people also spent time in a number of locations in the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Wide Bay areas while unknowingly contagious.

Officials are still determining exactly where the infected people went.

Anyone who attended the Jelly Roll concert on October 24 is being urged to be alert for measles symptoms.

The initial symptoms can include fever, lethargy, runny nose, moist cough, and sore red eyes. This is followed a few days later by a blotchy, red rash which often starts on the face and then becomes widespread over the body.

Two other measles cases have been confirmed in the Central Queensland and West Moreton areas unrelated to the concert.
