Early morning traffic chaos after five-car smash on M1

Motorists are being warned of long delays on the Pacific Motorway this morning following a five-car pile-up.

The vehicles collided southbound at Ormeau, just before exit 45, around 6am on Thursday.

At least two lanes have been blocked, with traffic at a standstill in the area.

Emergency crews are on scene, however it’s unknown at this stage whether anyone has been injured.

Police are urging drivers to allow for extra travel time or to avoid the area.
