Police are appealing for help to track down a stolen car believed to be involved in a serious assault on the Gold Coast.

The silver 2020 Subaru Outback, bearing Queensland registration 679MM4, was stolen during a break and enter at a home on Matasha Crescent in Pimpama around 3am on 2 April.

The vehicle was then allegedly involved in a serious incident on the M1 northbound at Currumbin, near the Stewarts Road on-ramp, around 2am on April 3, where a man was assaulted during an attempt to apprehend offenders.

“It will be alleged the offenders were travelling in convoy with a stolen black Land Rover Discovery, when the Land Rover was stopped by police,” Queensland Police said.

“The occupants of the Land Rover then entered the Subaru, before leaving the scene”.

The victim suffered a head injury in the incident and was taken to hospital for treatement.

Police say the stolen Subaru was last seen travelling north on the Pacific Motorway into Queensland, with detectives believing the vehicle may still be in the Gold Coast area.
